South Borbond Gram Unnayan Samity (SBGUS) started the Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts at Vichingcha in Hailakandi district in 2007. For better accommodation, environment and communication, the Centre was shifted to a two-storied building at Rangauti, Hailakandi in 2016. The Centre provides de-addiction and rehabilitation services to the victims of drug and substance abuse. The project was sanctioned by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India during 2011-12 under the scheme of Prevention of alcoholism and substance (drugs) abuse. The Centre is equipped with 17 nos. beds with all necessary infrastructure, furniture, recreation hall, dining room, reading space, medicines and emergency medical aids, recreational facilities including TVand indoor sports materials, newspapers, books, etc. There are 12 full time and part time staffs engaged with the Center including Project Coordinator, Counselor, Accountant cum Clerk, Nurse, Social Worker, Psychologist, Doctor, Yoga Therapist, Ward Boy, Peer Educator, Chowkidar and Sweeper. The services provided by the IRCA, Hailakandi to the beneficiaries during the year 2018-19 includes Treatment (detoxification), Counselling, Behavioural therapy, Training and Rehabilitation &Home visits and follow-up activities. During the year 2018-19, all total of 381 cases were registered in the IRCA Centre, Hailakandi. Out of these, 101 beneficiaries accessed indoor services and 280 received various outdoor services. 03 nos. of beneficiaries dropped out in between the services due to various reasons. 85 nos. of clients have been treated and rehabilitated back into the mainstream. Many of the rehabilitated beneficiaries have also been provided training for vocational rehabilitation. At the end of the reporting period 13 nos. of clients are being continued. Brief details of the recovered beneficiaries utilizing linkage for reintegration into the community is given in the following table:
